Former National Bank (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelašić on Thursday in Belgrade officially handed over his duties to newly elected Governor Dejan Šoškić.

Former National Bank (NBS) Governor Radovan Jelasic on Thursday in Belgrade officially handed over his duties to newly elected Governor Dejan Soskic. In a brief statement to the press, Soskic said that the NBS gained renown as a credible and stable institution thanks to his predecessor. New central bank chief takes over He said that some of his priorities will be increasing trust in the domestic currency dinar and fine adjustments of monetary system, including new legislation and coordination with European regulations. The NBS will also cooperate with state institutions in providing incentives to exports, savings and investments and in changing economic structure. The central bank will play an active role to that end in keeping with the law, he said. Jelasic expressed his conviction that his successor will pursue the reforms of the monetary and banking systems in Serbia.
