Police arrest double murder suspect

A man suspected of shooting two persons dead and wounding another has been arrested last night in Belgrade. The suspect, identified as Ljutomir Popovic, killed a young woman in the early hours of Saturday in a night club in the central Serbian town of Cuprija. Both men had police records, it has emerged. Another woman was also wounded, but her injuries are not life-threatening, according to reports. Popovic was located late on Monday by the Security-Information Agency (BIA), while it was decided to send in MUP's SAJ unit to apprehend the suspect, who was unarmed.
