Journalist sued over assassination report He told a news conference in Belgrade today that the criminal charges were filed against journalist Tamara Markovc Subotic, who wrote in an article published on June 29 that SRS leader Vojislav Seselj, from his Hague Tribunal detention, ordered the murder of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) president Tomislav Nikolic. "All information about Seselj in this regard are false, because every phone call the SRS leader makes at the Hague is wiretapped, and he is constantly under surveillance," said the party official, and added that Nikolic was "trying to gain political points in an immoral manner". Martinovic also requested information from the competent authorities about the financing of the SNS, as the party is not being financed from the state budget. "Nikolic is trying to make Seselj's position in the Hague more difficult," the SRS vice-president said, and added that the court should rule on in the war crimes case in September, "and probably release him from custody by the end of the year". For years, Nikolic was Seselj's closest associate, until he and several other party officials broke off and formed SNS.
