Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic will arrive in Seoul today for a two-day visit to South Korea. Cvetkovic has previously visited China, where mutual political support and further strengthening of the economic cooperation were underscored during his meetings with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao and Chairman of the National People's Congress Wu Bangguo. Premier starts visit to South Korea On the last day of his visit to China, Cvetkovic on Sunday opened the Serbian Pavillion Day at the World Expo 2010 exhibition in Shanghai, saying that Serbia is displaying its economic potential, as well as culture and tradition, with its participation in the world exhibition. "Today is an important day for Serbia at the Expo 2010 because of its national day and visitors' great interest in the Serbian Pavillion," Cvetkovic told Tanjug. The prime minister began his visit to Shanghai, after visiting Beijing, by a tour of the expo and visits to the Serbian and Chinese pavillions. Stating that more than 500,000 people have visited the Serbian Pavillion so far, Cvetkovic noted that the Expo 2010 represents a bridge between China and Serbia and shows Serbia to other countries as well. Serbia and China are strategic partners, said Cvetkovic, adding that it was confirmed in his meetings with top Chinese officials in Beijing and Shanghai. Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng welcomed Cvetkovic, who heads a delegation that includes Serbia's Minister of Trade Slobodan Milosavljevic, and stated that the Chinese people view Serbia as a heroic country. The mayor noted that traditional friendship and cooperation in trade and culture have been beneficial for both countries despite the geographical distance between them.
