A spokesperson of the Islamic Community in Serbia (IZS) said that earlier today Zukorlic believes that the apology given by Blic is inadequate, which is why the assembly was called. “Considering the severity of the insult, the Islamic Community in Serbia and Mesihat wanted to hear the opinions of all the institutions of the IZS and to reach a united stance. The IZS wants a symbolic payment of damages of EUR 100mn to come with Blic’s apology. Not only was the image of the chief mufti injured, but the religious feelings of all Muslims were also hurt, and we want President Boris Tadic to decide, because this is a call for conversion, in a way,” IZS spokesperson Samir Tandir said.
