The Higher Court in Belgrade has found a rape suspect guilty and convicted him to 20 years in jail this Thursday. The rapist was identified as Milomir Nenadovic. Earlier this year, he raped a woman in the elevator of a residential building in Belgrade. Belgrade court sentences rapist to 20 years The judges said today that the verdict and the unified jail time came after Nenadovic was found guilty on the indictment that charged him with committing one rape, two attempted rapes, and a robbery. Nenadovic now has two weeks to file his appeal. Serbia's new laws envisage sentences from two to 15 years for the crime of rape, while judges can no longer opt to send rapists to jail for a period of time under the legal minimum.
