Even though Pristina has confirmed participation at the Western Balkans-EU summit scheduled to take place in Sarajevo on June 2, they have stated that they will not agree to participating under the name “Kosovo-UNMIK”. If every country is represented with state symbols, we will participate,” the Kosovo Albanian president said. “It is unacceptable for us to participate under a sign that says ‘Kosovo-UNMIK’ or with ties to UN Resolution 1244, which is what Serbia wants,” Sejdiu said, adding that Kosovo was recognized by 67 countries and that “Serbia wants to overlook that fact”. As for the opinion of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the legality of the Kosovo Albanian unilaterally proclaimed independence, Sejdiu said that he was “convinced that no court can pass a decision that will go against the will of the people”. “The arguments we sent the court are irrefutable. The arguments that our partners in Germany, France, Great Britain and other countries sent to the ICJ are also arguments that support the recognition of Kosovo’s independence,” he concluded.
