Hashim Thaci says his government was not informed about the “results” of a recent search of one of its ministry. The Kosovo Albanian Telecommunications Ministry, headed by Fatmir Limaj, was searched by EULEX police. Thaci says “no lynch” in corruption case Limaj's house was also searched as part of a corruption investigation. Now Thaci reacted by saying he would “not allow for members of his cabinet to be lynched”. In an interview one week after the search was launched, Thaci told local RTK television outlet in Pristina that the government was not informed about the EULEX police operation. “Limaj is responsible, reasonable in the state-making sense in the cooperation with international officials which is also the government's position,” said Thaci. He also stated that he personally, and his government, had “zero tolerance” toward organized crime, but asked for “full transparency”. “Above all and in all circumstances, full transparency is required, cooperation, and nobody under any circumstances prejudices and influences the judiciary, either for personal or politician reasons,” said Thaci, according to reports. He also stressed he had no information that there could have been misuse or corruption “by Minister Limaj”, and added that “as the chief of the government”, he would make decisions on any possible changes in the cabinet.
