The Arandjelovac election commission has yet to announced results for Sunday’s early local election. According to the commission, in one polling station, there were more ballots cast than voters registered for that station. Local election results incomplete for town The commission nullified the votes there and has not yet confirmed the results in four other polling stations, because two members of the commission were against confirming the results, and one refrained from voting, making the outcome in Arandjelovac still uncertain. Commission President Ivan Petrovic said that he believed that there would be appeals submitted for the entire election process. He was not able to say when the election results would be official. According to preliminary results, the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) won 13 seats in the local assembly, and the Democratic Party (DS) took away 10. SPS follows with seven, and G17 plus, New Serbia and DSS have three each, while LDP taking two seats. SNS celebrated last night and said that they would be considering with whom to form a ruling coalition in this central Serbian town on Monday. SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic said that he would first offer cooperation to parties in the national opposition, but that talks with DS are also possible. DS local official Vlada Gajic said that DS would be forming a majority coalition with officials of the Together for Arandjelovac list led by G17 plus, the SPS-PUPS, JS coalition and LDP.
