Oliver Ivanovic says he sees “no politician in Serbia” who would be wiling to accept Kosovo as independent. The state secretary with the Ministry for Kosovo also spoke about the upcoming EU/Western Balkans conference in Sarajevo, and the participation of the Kosovo Albanian officials there, to say that it was “not a closed issue”. “No politician would accept UDI” “It is not a closed issue. If it is, organize that regional gathering without us (Belgrade). It will be closed only when Serbia accepts it. Will Serbia accept it? I see nobody in the political scene who would accept the independence of Kosovo.” Ivanovic, who toured the Kosovo Serb IDPs (internally displaced persons), now residing in Kraljevo, said that the UN Security Council adopted its Resolution 1244, and that only that body can interpret and change it. Some 20,500 Kosovo Serb IDPs live in Kraljevo, and Invanovic said that all those who wish to return to their homes “must have a good political opportunity”, while those who wish to stay, “must have a right to integrate in Serbia”, adding that this was “a forbidden word for political reasons”, but that the state and the ministry should help with it.
