The Liberal Democratic Party’s (LDP) new platform will be called “Agreement for the Future—new policies, new economy.” The LDP defined its principles for future actions in the fight for European integration, a lawful society, and better life. LDP presents future platform Europe without compromise, a quick entrance into NATO, unity in the region, effective institutions, stronger middle class, stronger competition, and the end of monopolies, are only some of the topics that LDP will be dealing with. “The first step leads us to NATO, the second towards Europe. The speed at which it accepts European values is much more important for Serbia than the speed at which it formally becomes a part of the EU. That is a fact that should not be pushed into the background, for us, this is a priority. We cannot go to Europe, we have to create Europe here in Serbia,” Party leader Cedomir Jovanovic said. He said that political changes are needed for economic process, adding that some measures are not popular, but necessary. Jovanovic said that LDP is preparing itself for new elections, which the party expects will be announced next year.
