Rasim Ljajic said that the recently adopted Srebrenica resolution cannot be a substitute for arresting Hague fugitive Ratko Mladic. Ljajic, who is the president of the National Council for Hague Cooperation, told B92 that there is always progress being made in the search for the remaining Hague fugitives, even though it’s not always visible. “Resolution doesn’t replace arrests” He said that he hopes that the next report on Serbia’s cooperation with the Tribunal that Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz submits to the UN Security Council and European Union in mid-May would be positive. Ljajic said that the resolution condemning war crimes committed in Srebrenica couldn’t be a substitute for the arrest of the former Bosnian Serb military leader. “It it a positive step and most of the international community agrees. This resolution was not passed for the purpose of receiving a positive report and cannot have any influence on Brammertz’s report, and I don’t that he will even be dealing with it in his report, but it is a step forward for reconciliation and creating a different atmosphere in the entire region,” Ljajic said.
