Serbian President Boris Tadic is today meeting his Croatian counterpart Ivo Jospovic in the Croatian seaside resort of Opatija. This will be their first encounter since Jospovic was inaugurated as Croatian president earlier this year. Tadic meets with Croatian counterpart Tadic missed the inauguration due to a dispute over the presence of Kosovo Albanian officials. The meeting today, which was described as informal, focused on bilateral ties between the two countries. Josipovic and Tadic said that future relations between the two countries would be built on principles of European partnership. Both presidents announced a new phase in relations between the two neighboring countries and said that they both fully support the European integrations of Croatia and Serbia. They talked about open issue and said that they would all be solved in the spirit of European partnership. Tadic said that stereotypes and prejudices must be eliminated in relations between Serbia and Croatia, adding that they exist on both sides. Wednesday’s first meeting between the two presidents came as a surprise since an announcement was already made that the first official meeting between the two would be held on Saturday in Brussels.
