Opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic said that Serbia is “on the brink of social, economic and political chaos”. “Serbia is on the brink of economic and social chaos, the government is irresponsible and the only job the regime is dealing with is the campaign against the Serb Progressive Party, but the citizens will not receive a new job or larger pay in that way,” Vucic said. SNS: Serbia on brink of chaos He said that the Business Forum in Kopaonik “showed what kind of chaos the country is in, when three officials of the financial branch came out with three different, contradictory proposals for getting the country out of the crisis.” SNS economic expert Milenko Dzeletovic said that the Kopaonik forum showed that the government does not have consistent economic policies, because three different scenarios for exiting the crisis were given, and they could not even agree on whether Serbia was out of the crisis or not. He warned that in the first two months of this year, all the key macroeconomic indicators have worsened, adding that the continuation of “confusing economic policies which the government is leading will lead to new firings, an increase in VATs, budget deficits and social differentiation.” Dzeletovic said that Serbia needs a new concept for its economic policy and a new model for financing economic development, which can be implemented only with a new government and new people who are ready to take responsibility.
