Italian Ambassador to Pristina Michael Giffoni says that “Kosovo's independence is directly linked to the stability of the whole region". Giffoni, who is also the representative of the EU in the north of Kosovo, said in an interview for KIM Radio that it is very important that the situation on the ground does not turn problematic, and that the European perspective of "Kosovo, Serbia, and other countries" of the region should not be undermined. “Kosovo independence linked with regional stability” Last year, the European Union decided to intensify its role and enhance its credibility and visibility in the northern part of Kosovo, said Giffoni, who has recently been nominated representative of the European Union for the north of Kosovo. According to the ambassador, issues related primarily to the daily life of people who live in this part of Kosovo should be dealt with without politicization and in agreement with Serb representatives. Giffoni pointed out that the ruling of the International Court of Justice on Kosovo will actually represent a non-binding opinion unlikely to cause any immediate effect. "Everyone has the right to interpret this opinion in their own way, but if the opinion is written well and clearly, there should be no need for different interpretations," Giffoni underlined.
