Reservists from Nis and Leskovac blocking main railways and demanding wages, stopped blocking the railways on Saturday night. The international railway from Nis to Sofia was blocked on Saturday with about 1,000 reservists from Leskovac blocking the railway near the train station. Conflicts between the protesters and gendarmerie broke out earlier as well. The war veterans are asking for daily wages to be paid for time spent in Kosovo during the 1999 NATO bombing, which total to about four average Serbian wages. Reservists who were not in Kosovo at the time are asking for two average wages. The reservists are demanding that the wages be paid in the same way they were paid to reservists from other regions earlier, who each received an average of about RSD 250,000 in six monthly payments. The war veterans were visited on Saturday by officials of the Labor Ministry, who offered them to continue negotiations in Belgrade in exchange for unblocking the railways. (Beta)
