First Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic today met with representatives from the Anti-Corruption Agency. They discussed cooperation between that institution and police, meant to increase their mutual efficiency. Dacic with Anti-Corruption Agency officials Dacic addressed reporters in Provo, a village near the town of Sabac, saying that Serbian police and Ministry of Interior (MUP) and the agency were partners when it came to fighting crime and corruption, which, according to him, was vital for the country and its European integration process. Dacic added that the communication between police and the agency had been regular so far, and that they agreed at the meeting to continue that practice in the future. An earlier announcement by MUP stated that Dacic and the Anti-Corruption Agency representatives had agreed to cooperate and exchange information directly, because the fight against corruption was one of Serbia's priorities in the European integration process, adding that the agency representatives had informed Dacic about their results and progress towards making the agency fully functional.
