Changes are expected to be made in the Kosovo government in 2010 and ruling coalition officials have stated that emergency elections could be announced. Daily Koha Ditore quoted Deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuqi, who said that “Prime Minister Hashim Thaci will evaluate the work of every minister and then hold consultations with government partners and make a decision on changes.“ Reconstruction of Kosovo govt. possible Kuqi did not say if there was a deadline for the changes to be made, but sources of the daily said that this will occur in early 2010. “Some ministers of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (Thaci’s party) will receive ’red cards’ as well as some from the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo," the chief coalition partner, the source stated. Thaci admitted that there will be changes made to the government’s ministers. “There will be new ideas in the government. There are several sectors that need aggressive reforms," Thaci said in an interview with the daily. Kuqi did not say if there was a deadline for the changes to be made, but sources of the daily said that this will occur in early 2010.
