We should all remember tonight’s events because they are incredibly symbolic,” Jeremic said. He said that “for the first time, every citizen can convince themselves that this country is moving towards the European Union.” “I am glad to be in Subotica, this is the best place, our closest border to the European Union, and today we will cross without visas and in several more years, there will be no border,” Jeremic said. “On December 19, Serbia will be a step closer to the European Union, but the work is not done and there is a lot more that needs to be done,” he added.
