Serbia's Interior Minister Ivica Dacic welcomed in Belgrade on Tuesday his Bulgarian counterpart, Cvetan Cvetanov. The two discussed promotion of cooperation between the two ministries in the fight against crime, it was announced. Visiting Bulgarian minister attends SAJ drill Cvetanov said that the new Bulgarian government will continue the already good cooperation with Serbia and that his country will continue to support Serbia on its way towards European integrations. Dacic told a news conference that it was agreed during the talks today to develop an innovated draft of a memorandum on cooperation that would include everything that was agreed by the two ministries in the past years. This includes new border crossings, setting up of joint border checkpoints, cooperation between the criminal police forces of the two countries, tracking of criminals and joint operations. Cvetanov evaluated that the new draft Memorandum of cooperation will be more modern than the previous one. Noting that this was the first meeting with Cvetanov after the forming of the new Bulgarian government, Dacic expressed his expectations that the cooperation will become even better. Later during the day, both ministers traveled to Batajnica, just north of Belgrade, to the base of the MUP Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ). The unit's officers performed a drill, the scenario including the freeing of hostages from a bus taken by terrorists. Cvetanov and Dacic were also able to see a display of the unit's weapons and equipment. The exercise was also attended by Police Director Milorad Veljovic.
