Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic will be in Washington on Tuesday to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The two are expected to talk about bilateral cooperation and the situation in the region. Jeremic in Washington on Tuesday “In the last year, relations between America and Serbia have been improving, especially after the visit of Joseph Biden,” Jeremic told reporters in Belgrade. He said that there are “open questions” between the two countries, such as Kosovo, but said that it is important to continue cooperation. The Serbian Foreign MInister said that relations between Belgrade and Washington will be a key element in the efforts of the international community to stabilize the situation in the Balkans over the next year. “We will continue cooperation with America in all fields. We were successful in isolating our differences, because there are open question between Belgrade and Washington. And specifically I mean the future status of Kosovo, but we were able to set that question aside successfully,” Jeremic said. He said that it is important to improve relations between the U.S. and Serbia in 2010, because it will be a key year for the Western Balkans, as far as the strategic process of EU integration is concerned. Before leaving for Washington, Jeremic will be in Sarajevo on Monday, where he will meet with the Foreign Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey.

Before leaving for Washington, Jeremić will be in Sarajevo on Monday, where he will meet with the Foreign Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey.
