Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic says his cabinet has outlined such a budget which guarantees that "not a single dinar is spent unnecessarily". Speaking for Tanjug news agency in Belgrade on Thursday, he pointed out that the budget, adopted this week by the government and sent to parliament, will cover all the funds that are planned for 2010. Cvetkovic: 2010, year of recovery "We have adopted a budget which, according to our assessments, includes adequate capacity needed to realize all that we have planned. I firmly believe that this will be the case," Cvetkovic said. The premier added that the following year will be difficult but that also the year of recovery. "Our estimates are that Serbia will achieve the positive rates of growth in the next year," Cvetkovic believes. According to him, compared to the previous budgets, the 2010 budget represents a step more to what we have planned in the medium-term. The budget "is harmonized with the stands of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the budget deficit to be reduced in the following few years. The first step will be taken the next year and then further cuts will follow," Cvetkovic said. Along with the planned reduction of expenditures, the 2010 budget is, as he put it, development-orientated and prioritizes the investment in infrastructure which will be the feature of the future budgets.
