President Boris Tadic met on Wednesday in Belgrade with Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser al Mohammed al Ahmed al Sabah. Tadic thanked Kuwait for its support to Serbia's territorial integrity and sovereignty. He also welcomed Kuwait's decision to reopen its embassy in Serbia. This has contributed to immediate reestablishment of political dialogue and to the fostering of bilateral cooperation, he said. Tadic also commended the signing of cooperation agreements in the economy, culture and tourism sectors, his office said. He also expressed hope that economic cooperation will reach a high level. There is great scope for restoring military industry cooperation between Serbia and Kuwait, Tadic said. Al-Sabah previously met with his Serbian counterpart Mirko Cvetkovic. Speaking to the media after the meeting, the Kuwaiti premier said the two countries have close ties, not only in political terms, but in terms of business, investment and culture as well. Cvetkovic remarked that "the door is open to investors from Kuwait". He went on to say that Belgrade highly appreciates Kuwait's principled position on Serbia's territorial sovereignty and integrity in Kosovo.
