  1. "It is, however very important that Serbia, after being admitted to the EU, should not forget that, as a Slavic and Orthodox country, it will be in a minority and that the only country to support it will be Russia,"

There are already five Slavic countries and four Orthodox countries in the EU. Even the Cyrilic alphabet is already in official use in the ubion.

  2. Just check the background of Béla Kun mentioned in Ataman1s comment or Kaganovics who was behind Ukrainian femine.
    (szemi, 7 November 2009 15:43)

Of course, Szemi. I can testify, you have absolutely nothing in common. It is true, that Béla Kun and some others can probably trace their ancestry line to certain three Hungarian tribes out of ten. But none of your ancestors from seven Hungaro-Ugric tribes did sleep with three Hungaro-Turkic ones. I was there, I did hold candle for them, rest assure - you are just fine.
    (SzemTELEN Fazék, 7 November 2009 20:52)
  3. "Some East European countries have forgotten good relations with Moscow too soon,"

Oh dear! That's so ... sovietique.
    (adrian/bucharest, 7 November 2009 18:47)
  4. Katyn, the 50 years of slavery, Ukrainian famine,
How dare they forget the wonderful times?
    (aRTa, 6 November 2009 20:49)

Of course we have not forgotten. We know exactly that those behind thiese crimes (for example NKVD members taking part in Katyn massacre) are fathers ,grandfathers,great-grandfathers of those who not long ago supported albanian criminals. They will never cease to commit crimes against humanity and use Stalins,Sverdlovs,Andropopvs,Thacis,Haradinajs, and other scumbags to achive their vicious goals.
Otherwise I do not expect superficial albanians to know anything about the background of things. It seems that as opposed to albanians most know which etnicity was behind the darkest communism.Just check the background of Béla Kun mentioned in Ataman1s comment or Kaganovics who was behind Ukrainian femine.

  5. both your examples, of 'russian monsters' do not make sense. both stalin and beria are ethnic georgians...
    (stari, 7 November 2009 06:57)

Aha, look a bit better at the post - that's why I became "GeorgiaUpdate" - to make sure, "BalkanUpdate" understands the humor.

BTW: Imre Nagy and Hungarian Legion made a few boo-boos in Siberia during the Civil War. One of the little things (strongly rumored) was the killing of the Tsar family.

Later, after Imre Nagy switched the sides back and forth he had to be executed - because that's the fate of the double agents.

And now he is the undisputed hero of 1956... :-(

The role of Béla Kun in Big Ukrainian Rape was monumental. Later he just got what deserved - but not for his crimes.

All of them were "nice" people.
    (Ataman, 7 November 2009 12:37)
  6. Are we restarting the war between Byzant and Rome again? Wether even the head of two big churchs are trying to strengh the dialog between them, our KGB diplomats are trying to play the last card against Europe Orthodox against Christian. Presumably the cheap strategy against "islamistic" movements in Bosnia and Kosovo is not working anymore. Such signals are not good for Serbia. Trying to sit in two chairs at the same time will finish to fall in a black hole.
    (Tymi, 7 November 2009 10:44)
  7. I dont know how eastern europe was before the collapse, all i know is that back then those nations were respected.
Now all we see from those ppls are cheap labor, famine and prostitution.

More or less, same happened with the republics of Yugoslavia.

Eastern countries are under western control for over 20 years, and the results are far below than expected.

I've been to Bulgaria which belongs to the west since 1991.
Serbia has nothing to be jealous of, compared to Bulgaria/Romania (even Greece)

The key is one word: PRODUCTION.
    (pyrros, 7 November 2009 08:01)
  8. How true! That Russian monster Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili (alias Stalin) was pretty horrible. And Lavrenti Pavles dze Beria only barely better.
    (GeorgiaUpdate, 7 November 2009 00:46)

  9. "You mean like the time between WWII and 1989? Yeah, we remember that. The vast majority of Eastern Europeans ,with the exception of Serbs, hate Russia and everything it stands for and for good reason. Believe me, we know all the "great" things you have done in the region.
    (BalkanUpdate, 6 November 2009 22:35) "

Thats a common perception that the public is forced to believe.

The same public believes that Ukrainian from Russian are different ppls, that Montenegrin, Bosnian and Serbian languages are different, that Yugoslavia never existed, etc...

    Damn lies & propaganda
    (pyrros, 7 November 2009 06:36)
  10. The vast majority of Eastern Europeans ,with the exception of Serbs, hate Russia and everything it stands for and for good reason. Believe me, we know all the "great" things you have done in the region.

  12. Tadic is a user and if Serbia gets into EU he will forget about Russia's support. He would've achieved what he was told to achieve by the west and nobody will be able to sop the tsunami engulfing Serbian people.

There are too many Serbs now who don't appreciate Russia. Imagine what will happen if they get into EU with Tadic in government.
    (Peggy, 6 November 2009 22:15)
  13. "Some East European countries have forgotten good relations with Moscow too soon," the ambassador emphasized

Russia ruined the economies of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe during the 50 years of communism.

The EU Members from Central and Eastern Europe should do everything possible to isolate Russia.
    (Mircea, 6 November 2009 21:23)
  14. "Some East European countries have forgotten good relations with Moscow too soon,"

Katyn, the 50 years of slavery, Ukrainian famine, occupation of Georgia, Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia...etc. How dare they forget the wonderful times?

Where's the Russian loan by the way?
    (aRTa, 6 November 2009 20:49)
  15. Of course it should. The EU is but one part of the world economy, Russia is another. Anybody who does not understand that should not be making decisions.
    (Patrik, 6 November 2009 19:54)
  16. Well put Mr. Aleksandr Konuzin-

However, Serbia will not need to join the EU in the end.
Russia will help guide Serbia to it's rightful place,it's Serbian Dynasty. You can call is Greater Serbia, but the lands that Serbs lived and died for over 1,000 years will be brought under one.
One larger, stronger , Democratic Serbia is what is needed, and will happen.
    (JohnnySRB, 6 November 2009 19:50)
  17. ""It is, however very important that Serbia, after being admitted to the EU, should not forget that, as a Slavic and Orthodox country, it will be in a minority and that the only country to support it will be Russia," he said."

Read: we want you our Trojan horse in EU.

P.S. so they can double-check the info that some Bulgarian politicians are sending to Moscow already.
    (ben, 6 November 2009 19:31)
  18. So much emphasis on the "Slavic" and "Orthodox" qualities of Serbia. As if such characteristics would ever alienate Serbs from other EU citizens.
    (Nenad, 6 November 2009 19:30)
  19. Serbia will never forget it's historic ties to all Orthodox nations. As a frontline nation of Orthodox Christianity, Serbia understands its place between the Catholic West and the Ottoman East.
    (Michael, 6 November 2009 18:36)
  20. "Some East European countries have forgotten good relations with Moscow too soon," the ambassador emphasized, adding the EU is an important trade partner of Russia.
    --
How very true. The EU is pumping these Eastern European states with debt so they are too busy chasing their own tail.

However, Serbia must always keep the right balance between Russia and the EU. We have a special connection with Russia and that is not something easily forgotten.
    (Zoran, 6 November 2009 18:28)
  21. "It is, however very important that Serbia, after being admitted to the EU, should not forget that, as a Slavic and Orthodox country, it will be in a minority and that the only country to support it will be Russia,"

i wonder if this guy plays chess. if so, i definitely would not want to play him.
