  1. We will never accept attempted secession of a part of our territory," he stated.

wow just read these two words: "attempted secession". was he born yesterday? Kosova is long gone and took what is rightfully hers. wake up wolf
    (Kosova-USA, 6 November 2009 13:41)

Kosova is going nowhere fast. It will continue to remain in limbo for EVER if Serbia wishes. You don’t see that the US only needs the base in Kosova and if the status quo remains it’s absolutely now skin off their nose. They have what they want and they will continue to pay Kosova politicians to keep the populace quite and under control and so it goes on and on.

Every now and then they will make a promise to keep the hopes up, but all are dead end promises.

I think that little wolf knows a little more than you, so I’d stick to my day job if I was you and not try and second guess.

  2. Cyprus will recognize Kosovo's independence soon after Greece joins other EU members countries in recognzing the Kosovo independence unilateral declaration. I hope Serbia will still "support Cyprus in all of its matters" after Cyprus recognizes Kosovo's independence. At the end all it boils down to one term "politics". Peace.
    (GWB, 8 November 2009 20:55)
  3. Kosova, Albania should recognize Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and ask other countries to do the same.
    (Bekim, 7 November 2009 18:48)

Well, Kosovo is a province. Only states can recognize other states.

But just let's image Kosovo is a state. Then I agree: they should recognze Tibet, Northern Cyprus, Abkhazia and Kurdistan.

If Kosovo.. why not the others!?
Kosovo is not a unique case. And it will never be.

So stick to the rules (international law) or change the rules! But then others can use the Kosovo-rules too!

Or is an Albanian worth more than an Kurd or Tibetan?
    (Ron, 8 November 2009 17:59)
  4. Who needs Cyprus anyway when Kosova have Afghanistan, Guinea Bissau, and Marshal Islands on our side?
    (Behare Avdijaj, 6 November 2009 22:39)

    you forgot the mighty maldives!
    (stari, 7 November 2009 07:00)

    Let's not forget Nauru.
    (Peggy, 7 November 2009 22:20)
  5. Kosova, Albania should recognize Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and ask other countries to do the same.
    (Bekim, 7 November 2009 18:48)

"Kosova" has no right to recognise themselves let alone anyone else.
When you get into UN, then perhaps others will ask for your vote.
    (Peggy, 7 November 2009 22:18)
  6. Kosova, Albania should recognize Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and ask other countries to do the same.
    (Bekim, 7 November 2009 18:48)
  7. Maybe not today or tomorrow, what about in the near future...5, 8, 10, 15 years?
    (KOSOVARi, 6 November 2009 21:56)

I agree, but it will happen only after the Greek Cypriot monks will paint icons depicturing Muhammad and worship the Saudi king.

BTW: Dalai Lama recently was invited to Russia's Far East and participated in ceremony in a building used as both church and lamaist temple.

So some mixing can work out, some cannot. Inshallah, the promise of 77 virgins after shaheed is not part of Buddhist curriculum.
    (Ataman, 7 November 2009 12:53)
  8. Cypruss, an island in where Turkish troops are in the North and British troops in the South. So from countries who already recognized reality. Moreover, Cypruss is politically the rotten apple in the EU and the very proof that it is wrong to import country into the EU with unsolved issues. No wonder why Cypruss and Serbia so close. They both are incapable of doing their homework. However, Serbia will not slip trough like Cypruss did. The North of Europe will not allow it repeat that mistake. Bet on it.

    Cheers!
    (Berkeley, 7 November 2009 09:38)
  9. What is the size of Cyprus? The size of a town in Kosova?
Where on earth a "town-state" can impose solution to a bigger country?
    (EA, 6 November 2009 21:08)

Cyprus size is slightly smaller than Kosovo. And yes here in this earth this small country can block you from joining Eu so it can impose its will on Kosovo, because Cyprus is a member of EU and Kosovo is not. But if that is not enough, Greece, Romania and Spain will block Kosovo who have dozens of times bigger size than Kosovo

Dimitris? Sound like a Greek name to me)) How it comes that there can be to Greek states and not two Albanian states?
    (EA, 6 November 2009 21:08)

There can be 2 greek states since England agreed to give Cyprus independence, there are not 2 albanian states because Serbia has not agreed to give Kosovo independence.

Maybe not today or tomorrow, what about in the near future...5, 8, 10, 15 years?
    (KOSOVARi, 6 November 2009 21:56)

Cyprus will never recognize Kosovo, because this will make the Turkish "state" of Northern Cyprus legal.
    (Nikos, 7 November 2009 09:10)
  10. Who needs Cyprus anyway when Kosova have Afghanistan, Guinea Bissau, and Marshal Islands on our side?

    you forgot the mighty maldives!

  11. Is there anything to recon, number 1244 is written everywhere, only blind people and dreamers do not see it...
    (The Swiss, 7 November 2009 00:17)
  12. Let's be clear, EU is an elite club in which NO COUNTRY can be admitted, should it have conflicts with its neighbours...it's quite simple...and this apply to all balkan countries.

EU doesn't have time and the wish to deal with our small countries' ethnic or border problems....all that must be solved before we join...and trust me...they're not in a hurry to have new members in...
    (Hans, 7 November 2009 00:03)
  13. Who needs Cyprus anyway when Kosova have Afghanistan, Guinea Bissau, and Marshal Islands on our side?
    (Behare Avdijaj, 6 November 2009 22:39)
  14. Too late Jeremic. He is panicking, what Doris Pack told him scared lil Vuk. Jeremic is under the wrong impression that ALL 27 EU countries (counting Cro and Iceland) must agree on any condition. Let me tell you: any member can place conditions, especially if they are backed by 22 others. If you don't want to settle the issues to please 22/27 you are not ready for EU, no "Kosovo je Serbia" 20 years from now in EU meetings
    (aRta, 6 November 2009 16:06)

What are you talking about? Doris just got her mouth shut by her own government. Haven't you been keeping up to date?

Croatia is NOT a member. What conditions can they put on anyone?
Do you actually read what you write before you hit that send button?
    (Peggy, 6 November 2009 22:08)
  15. "No Cypriot govt. will recognize Kosovo"

Maybe not today or tomorrow, what about in the near future...5, 8, 10, 15 years?
    (KOSOVARi, 6 November 2009 21:56)
  16. Bravo Cyprus!! Pseudoindependent Kosovo will be european black hole - no chance for integration with Europe. Will be more and more situations like last time on Serbian-Hungarian border - peoples from this "black hole" who need illegal acces to european heaven.
    (Milan, 6 November 2009 21:31)
  17. "... Dimitris Christofias ... "there is no possibility that any Cypriot government would recognize Kosovo".

Dimitris? Sound like a Greek name to me)) How it comes that there can be to Greek states and not two Albanian states?

  18. Thank you Cyprus, and I hope Germany, the US, and UK are listening. Kosovo je Srbija!
    Cheers!!
    (Dragan, 6 November 2009 19:57)
  19. Serbia is Kosovo and no matter how many times you say different will not change that. Just because you try to steal something, does not make it yours.
    (JohnnySRB, 6 November 2009 15:45)
The legal question is not whether Kosovo is an independent country or part of serbia. The question is whether Kosovo is an independent country or a permanent UN/EU protectorate that lies within the geographic boundaries of Serbia. Either way it is in no way part of Serbia.
    (pss, 6 November 2009 19:12)
  20. No Cypriot govt. will recognize Kosovo

Bravo Cyprus! This is my next holiday destination and I'm looking forward to it. Slovakia and Greece were great also. Romania will follow Cyprus.
    (Zoran, 6 November 2009 18:21)
  21. ""We are moving toward EU membership, but we do not allow for our territorial integrity to be brought into question," Jeremić said after this meeting with Kyprianou."

Ummm, this very club your country is looking join - the EU - most of their members (22/27) have not only brought your country's territorial integrity into question, they don't even consider it a question anymore, but a fact different from your own. For a foreign diplomacy chief, I would think you wouldn't make such an idiotic statement... truly pathetic.
    (Jetoni, US, 6 November 2009 18:03)
  22. Kosova is long gone ...
    (Kosova-USA, 6 November 2009 13:41)

where did 'kosova' go exactly? did it leave the balkan peninsula? did it float off on some clouds like in that commercial? is there just a hole there now?
    (stariVujadin, 6 November 2009 17:31)
  23. The clock must really be ticking on Serbia's Eu application if Vuk is making statements like " Nicosia can count on Belgrades support on all issues" These kinds of blind open ended promises are laughable coming from a country as big as Serbia to a country as small and internally conflicted as Cyprus.
    (Take notice Turkiye)
We all know the Radicals are coming to power in the next election and Tadic, Vuk and Co. are out. Then Serbia can kiss the EU goodbye and officially become a Russian republic.
The current Eu accession talks with Serbia will go nowhere unless they arrest genocide suspect Mladic. Until then, Serbia's application for membership will never be judged on the same criteria as other candidate countries, because no other country in the world lets genocide suspects roam freely like Serbia.
    (Dibrani, 6 November 2009 17:29)
