President Boris Tadic gave Dmitry Medvedev a mirror etched with Serbian motifs and a book “Moscow-Serbia, Belgrade-Russia” writes the Belgrade press. The linden mirror-frame features flags from Vladislav Gramatik’s Zbornik from 1594, while the book is the first volume on socio-political ties from the 16th to 18th century published by the Archive of Serbia, daily Novosti reports. Behind-the-scenes during Medvedev visit Meanwhile, speaking of the Russian president’s visit, RTS Director Aleksandar Tijanic said that “we were covering Medvedev with 25 to 30 cameras and the Russians had 50.” He added that he could not remember the last time a president of such a big country had come to Serbia, and that visits by an American president or the British Queen would have been covered the same way. “As concerns the Russian songs we were playing—it’s only polite to sing at least five songs to our guest in his mother tongue among 200 Serbian songs,” he told daily Blic.

Meanwhile, speaking of the Russian president’s visit, RTS Director Aleksandar Tijanić said that “we were covering Medvedev with 25 to 30 cameras and the Russians had 50.”

He added that he could not remember the last time a president of such a big country had come to Serbia, and that visits by an American president or the British Queen would have been covered the same way.

“As concerns the Russian songs we were playing—it’s only polite to sing at least five songs to our guest in his mother tongue among 200 Serbian songs,” he told daily Blic.
