A Kosovo and Metohija Political Forum has been established in Gracanica, whose political goal is to unite the Kosovo Serbs. The forum has elected as its chairman Momcilo Trajkovic, the leader of the now defunct Serb Resistance Movement in Kosovo. Kosovo Serbs create political forum “The Kosovo Serbs need to be organized to respond to any challenge, and right now, they’re facing a political and economic crisis,” Trajkovic told B92. He said that the forum could also help the authorities in Belgrade to establish a policy for upholding Serbia’s sovereignty in Kosovo. Trajkovic, who is also one of the candidates for the newly-created post of Gracanica municipal president, says that the creation of a Serb forum and the Kosovo local elections have nothing to do with each other. He said that the forum was an advisory body for the time being and that it included members who were opposed to those elections. The forum was created at the initiative of 50 residents of Gracanica and neighboring villages.
