Montenegrin Foreign Minister Milan Rocen said that the agreement for naming a new ambassador to Belgrade is a sign of improving relations. He told daily Vecernje Novosti that the naming of Igor Jovovic as Montenegro’s new ambassador to Serbia will strengthen regional stability, adding that it will also be a recommendation for faster progress towards the united European goal of the region. New ambassador is “sign of improved relations” Rocen said that relations between Serbia and Montenegro have improved and are better than they look on the political surface. He said that relations are “always brotherly,” even when there are disagreements on issues. He added that he does not believe that Belgrade officials will change their stance regarding Montenegro’s recognition of Kosovo independence, but added that Podgorica and Belgrade, with complete political maturity and responsibility, show understanding in the fact that international relations cannot be looked at through the “Kosovo prism.”
