War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic has announced that there has been "some progress in the search for Ratko Mladic". The former general was the wartime leader of Bosnia's Serbs and has been indicted for war crimes by the Hague Tribunal. Prosecutor on Mladic, organs case "There is the political will, we are absolutely aware that every day of delay is a big loss for Serbia. There is good coordination between all services and state organs," Vukcevic said. He prosecutor also told Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti that he expects Mladic to be arrested "by the end of this year". "We expect that. The action team, and the state leadership are working hard and daily on the realization of the final goal – to locate, arrest and extradite to the tribunal Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic," Vukcevic said. Hadzic is a former leader of Croatia's Serbs, also wanted by The Hague-based UN court on charges of war crimes. Vukcevic went on to tell the newspaper that his office is expecting an objective report from Council of Europe (CoE) Rapporteur Dick Marty on the Kosovo organ trafficking case. The prosecutor said that Marty would present his report that Marty to the CoE Parliamentary Assembly. The prosecution believes that hundreds of Kosovo Serbs civilians were kidnapped in the province in 1999, taken across the border to Albania by the members of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), where their vital organs were extracted before they were murdered. "We expect the report to be objective," Vukcevic said, and added that the CoE "will adopt a resolution which will have enormous political weight". He also denied he was planning to run for the state prosecutor's office.
