Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said on Thursday that a big job of modernizing the state and society at all levels lies in store for the people of Serbia. This will involve introduction of modern technologies along with respect of traditions, he told a gathering in Belgrade to mark the anniversary of the Official Gazette anniversary. PM: Serbia needs modernization He noted that the Official Gazette is maintaining a two-century long tradition of fostering and preserving Serbian national culture, literature and language, and constitutes a most complete treasury of documents demonstrating Serbia's aspirations to become a modern European state and the endeavors for bringing Serbia and Europe closer together. The Official Gazette presents to the people, companies and entire public the activities of state institutions by publishing laws and regulations important for state functioning, Cvetkovic said.
