The one hundred most successful companies in Serbia realized a net profit of RSD 79.5bn in 2008. This amounts to 26.6 percent of the total net profit of the Serbian economy, according to research conducted by the Republic Development Bureau. Top 100 had RSD 79.5bn profit The most successful company last year was carpet and floor maker Sintelon of Backa Palanka with a profit of RSD 4.4bn, or 5.5 percent of the overall profits of the 100 most successful companies and 1.5 percent of the total profits of the economy. The 100 most successful companies employ 101,981 workers, or 9.1 percent of the total number of persons employed in the economy. The list of the most successful companies also the Nis-based tobacco manufacturer DIN with RSD 41.bn, Invej with RSD 3.5bn, Telenor with RSD 3.44bn, and Hemofarm, that made RSD 3.39bn last year.
