The Serbian Parliament continues work on Wednesday with debates on amendments for three draft laws regarding financial issues. There will also be consultations held today regarding the day of voting. Parliament debates financial laws MPs will debate draft laws for confirming the financial agreement with the European Investment Bank, which calls for Serbia to receive a loan worth EUR 250mn. The debate will also include the draft law for the confirmation of the loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, over an addional loan of EUR 10.5mn. There is also the draft law for the state taking out loans from three commercial banks, worth EUR 90mn, for financing the budget deficit. Parliament Speaker Slavica Djukic-Dejanovic told B92 that the date for the voting session with be agreed upon between leaders of the MP groups. “When we finish work today, I plan on calling the MP group chiefs to evaluate what day is best for voting, when we will have enough MPs present,” Djukic-Dejanovic said. According to the parliamentary procedures, Thursday is expected to be the day for asking MP questions to ministers. However, Djukic-Dejanovic did not confirm that there would be a session tomorrow. “Some ministers will be there. If we work and if we vote tomorrow, if there is a session, these ministers will be there definitely. As is know, the final Thursday of the month is a day for MP questions,” she said. Asked about the fate of a draft on changes to the Law on Information and when it might be put up for a vote, Djukic-Dejanovic said that she does not want to make any guesses. “The law has almost divided the MPS, I can’t guess what the fate of it will be. Whatever the majority decides will be the stance of the parliament, since I the position I hold, I would not comment on this, because it could be seen as influencing the parliament,” Djukic-Dejanovic said. The three financial agreements are the last issues on the agenda of the session that began on July 16.
