Serb Progressive Party deputy leader Aleksandar Vucic says that the party will not hold a protest if and when Ratko Mladic is ultimately arrested. He told Belgrade daily Danas that officials from his party had protested the arrest of Radovan Karadzic because of the manner in which it had been carried out. SNS: No protests if Mladic arrested “We don’t believe the Hague Tribunal has done its job well, they’ve showed double standards too often. I am referring primarily to the verdicts for Naser Oric and Fatmir Limaj, but also for all Serbs, to whom they’re showing these clear double standards. Even though this has nothing to do with whether you want to move towards Europe or not, we are not blind, and we are not so stupid as to praise someone that has not done their job properly,” Vucic said. “The arrest of the remaining Hague indictees, [Ratko] Mladic and [Goran] Hadzic, was promised by the government and they will do everything in their power to make it happen. I would not deal with that topic at this moment in time. Besides, you only have one case: Mladic. Who is even mentioning Hadzic, who’s interested in him? Serbia will be facing problems that are a lot more serious than the Tribunal,” Vucic said. He said that the Democratic Party would not call elections until it had done absolutely everything it could to arrest Mladic. “They will either do it or I don’t know what…If they don’t find him, and they call elections, that means that no one knows where he is and no one can find him. That is their main problem and the only thing that they are chasing,” he said.
