This led to the CoE Summer School of Democracy losing its attendants from Serbia – some of whom came from Kosovo itself – but also those from the Republic of Srpska (RS) and Montenegro, who demonstrated their dissatisfaction with the speech by walking out. According to the report, Mesic expressed his regret at their move, "because he believed they should have stayed and discussed it".
