EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn is expected to visit Belgrade on July 22, B92 has learned. His trip should come after the EU decides on the abolishment of the visa regime it has in place for Serbians. This commissioner is also described as one of EU officials who are in favor of unfreezing of an interim trade deal that is part of the suspended Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) between Brussels and Belgrade. Rehn's spokeswoman Krisztina Nagy said that the program of his visit has not been determined yet, but that it would include discussion on the relations between Serbia and the EU. She would not comment on media speculation that the union's decision to abolish visas would not apply to the citizens who reside in Kosovo.
