Deputy leader of the ruling Democrats (DS) Dusan Petrovic says there is "no better majority in Serbia" that what now represents the government in parliament. "This is a job we're doing, in order to change Serbia, for fast track movement toward the EU, for reforms in the Army, judiciary and other vital parts of the state organs – this is in my opinion the best imaginable majority," he told an assembly of the DS Youth in Belgrade late on Sunday. Democrats "do not want new elections" "There will be no elections unless one of our political partners decides that they are better off seeking another majority. The Democratic Party does not want elections," said Petrovic. "Just as in any other coalition government," he went on to say, "there are debates within the Serbian government." Petrovic said that without the party's and youth's participation in politics "Serbia cannot be changed for the better", and that this was "not possible during the past 20 years either". "That's why we're all here, that's why Zoran Djindjic lost his head changing Serbia." Another deputy DS president and minister of defense in the Cvetkovic cabinet, Dragan Sutanovac, also addressed the gathering. "Try to be better than those who are currently the best, and that's you," he was quoted as saying, and adding that he expects young people to be able to travel to the EU without visas as of next year. DS Belgrade board president and city's mayor, Dragan Djilas, was present and addressed the assembly, as were G17 Plus, LDP and representatives of parties from Croatia and the Republic of Srpska (RS).
