16 people died in an accident in southeast Bulgarian after a bus ran off a mountain road and into a group of people on their way to a religious celebration. According to initial information, around 20 people were injured, four of whom seriously. 16 dead in Bulgarian bus accident Police say that the driver most likely lost control of the bus after the brakes failed. The bus then careered down a mountainside into the pedestrians, who were climbing to the top of the mountain for a traditional Ascension celebration near the town of Jambol, some 260 kilometers southeast of Sofia.
