Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis says that her country will continue to support Serbia in its European integration. Asked whether Holland could be expected to change its stance and that the EU would begin implementing the Stabilization and Association Agreement with Serbia in June, Bakoyannis told a press conference in Athens that she could not say for sure, but hoped that it would be so. Greek FM maintains support for Serbia Her Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic told the same press conference that Serbia and Greece’s stance were identical regarding the process of EU enlargement in the Western Balkans. He said that he and Bakoyannis had talked mainly about Serbia and Greece’s joint approach towards other partners in this important process. Romanian President Traian Basescu said that his country supported the speedy integration of Serbia into the EU and the liberalization of the visa regime for Serbian citizens. Meeting with the newly-accredited Serbian Ambassador to Romania Zoran Popovic, Basescu said that Romania understood the importance of implementing European standards in relation to minority rights, so that the Romanian minority in Serbia could enjoy the same rights as the Serb minority in Romania. He said that he and Bakoyannis had talked mainly about Serbia and Greece’s joint approach towards other partners in this important process.
