Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic says that there is a mutual desire between Serbia and the U.S. to see an improvement in bilateral relations. “There are differences as far as Kosovo’s future status is concerned, but there are many issues where our positions are absolutely identical,“ said Jeremic in Washington, after speaking with U.S. Under Secretary of State Jim Steinberg. Jeremic: Mutual desire for better relations He said that a high degree of understanding was reached as to what Belgrade and Washington’s common priorities were as far the Western Balkans were concerned, stressing that that was a “peaceful and stable Balkans on the path to full integration in the EU.“ Noting the wide scope for cooperation between the two countries, both at bilateral and multilateral level, the minister said that an agreement had been reached to intensify dialogue, announcing “a high-level visit from the U.S. to Belgrade“ next month. “There is scope for economic cooperation.
