Interior Minister Ivica Dacic says he is "ready to withdraw" from his position, daily Vecernje Novosti writes today. "I am ready to withdraw from the position of police minister, if it is a burden to the state, and if I would thus contribute to rationalization," said Dacic, who is also first deputy prime minister and leader of the ruling Socialists (SPS). Dacic "angry" at partners, "ready to quit" He said criticism leveled at his party, said to have opposed a reduction of portfolios in the Cvetkovic cabinet, was "hypocritical", considering that "no official talks on the subject ever occurred". "I am angry at my coalition partiers for creating such a media image about us," he told the newspaper. I'm ready to talk about all the options, but so far no one's offered us any paper," Dacic said of the idea to scale down the number of ministries in the current government.
