The planned reduction in the number of ministries has been thwarted by internal problems with the SPS, claim sources close to daily Blic. The sources state that the biggest problem lies in the fact that Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic is unable to force any of his party colleagues—Infrastructure Minister Milutin Mrkonjic, Education Minister Zarko Obradovic and Energy Minister Petar Skundric—to step aside. "SPS ministers refuse to stand down" Blic claims that neither the Socialists’ running mates, Deputy Prime Minister Jovan Krkobabic and Minister Without Portfolio Sulejman Ugljanin, are willing to make way. Neither were available for comment, however. There are currently two plans for scaling down the number of ministries. Under the first, the Democrats would relinquish six ministries, and G17 Plus and the SPS one each. Under the second, the Democrats would relinquish three, and G17 Plus and the SPS one each.
