Opposition DSS leader Vojislav Kostunica says that those ruling in Belgrade city assembly have no policy, no projects, and do nothing except hold on to power. The former Serbian prime minister for two terms told his party's loacal board in Belgrade that the ruling coalition will leave behind "a heap of problems", that will be paid for by the citizens. "Belgrade administration sit on their hands" He accused the ruling Democrats (DS) of being a party of "small policies, and big propaganda". According to Kostunica, the five party coalition gathered around the DS ahead of the elections last May, known as "For a European Serbia", "did not choose means" to grab the power in Belgrade after it did so on the state level. "The members of the new Belgrade administration have overlooked the fact that governing should be based on some program and policy. Today in Belgrade, we have an administration without any policy, without projects, that does nothing except hold on to power," he told the party meeting. Belgrade should be the driving force for Serbia's development, Kostunica continued, and said that the capital city's role must be reconcilable with equal development of the rest of the country, "which is another name for an economically strong and socially just Serbia". The current government is creating problems, the former premier said, while "irreparable damage" has been done with the legalization of EULEX in Kosovo, the adoption of the draft Vojvodina statute, the unilateral implementation of the SAA with the EU, and the general collapse of the country's institutions and worsening economy. A new arrangement with the IMF, currently negotiated in Belgrade, "will be a new and devastating blow for Serbia's economy", said the DSS leader. During the afternoon, the city board elected party spokesman Andreja Mladenovic as its new leader.
