EULEX Chief Yves de Kermabon will visit Belgrade this week, it has been confirmed. Ahead of the visit, EULEX officials in Pristina announced that Kermabon's meetings with Serbia's officials "will not be of political nature". EULEX chief to embark on "non-political" visit “This will be a technical visit. He will meet there with the ministers of justice, interior and finance to discuss issues that are within the EU mission's operative mandate in Kosovo,” EULEX spokesman Christophe Lamfalussy said in a statement published by Albanian language newspaper Zeri. It was also mentioned that one of the topics of the meetings might the conclusion of provisional arrangements between Belgrade and EULEX. EULEX officials also said that "alleviation of the present tension" between the mission and Belgrade might also be the aim of the visit, since Serbia has been recognizing only the authority of UNMIK in Kosovo. Kermabon will visit Belgrade on March 18-20, while Kosovo government spokesman Memli Krasnici said that the six-pint plan, reached by the UN and Belgrade is "dead for the Kosovo institutions, regardless of the nature of Kermabon's visit to Belgrade".
