The U.S. State Department Bureau of Operations Abroad announced that a new embassy will be built in Belgrade, costing USD 117mn. The new embassy building would provide safety, security and work spaces for the 400 employees who would work there. The new embassy building would replace the existing building, which was built between 1936 and 1937. Construction is intended to be finished by 2011 and Framaco International from New York will direct construction, according to a statement.
