Pension fund's new boss hails from BIA

The new acting director of the Pension Insurance Fund (PIO) is Slobodan Zdravković, previously employed with the Security Information Agency (BIA).

The new acting director of the Pension Insurance Fund (PIO) is Slobodan Zdravkovic, previously employed with the Security Information Agency (BIA). President of the PIO board of directors Meho Mahmutovic told daily Beta that Zdravkovic was chosen on suggestion of Deputy PM Jovan Krkobabic. Pension fund's new boss hails from BIA Zdravkovic was born in 1969 and graduated from the Economic Faculty in Belgrade. At today’s board of directors meeting, current Director Goran Loncar’s resignation was accepted. Loncar will, according to Mahmutovic, "move into a leading position in the Interior Ministry". The board of directors decided to schedule an open competition in order to arrive at a permanent solution for top PIO job. The competition will be officially scheduled tomorrow after which it will be announced in the Official Gazette. The PIO director is chosen according to a coalition agreement, based on which the current government has been formed, and goes to the Serb Socialist Party (SPS), the United Pensioners Party (PUPS) and United Serbia (JS) pre-election coalition. Former director Loncar came to the position when the minister of work and social policy in Zoran Djindjic’s government was Gordana Matkovic. He is not a member of any party.
