Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci says the six-point plan does not exist for Kosovo since the only valid documents are Martti Ahtisaari's plan and the Kosovo Constitution. In an interview published in Belgrade daily Politika on Thursday, he claimed that Russia also had understanding for Ahtisaari's plan and that it would recognize Kosovo as an independent state. "Thaci confident of Moscow recognition" At Politika's observation that Ahtisaari's plan had not been recognized by any international institution, Thaci replied that the plan was in fact an international document. "That plan is recognized by all the countries that have recognized us as a state, but also by those that have not yet done so. Even Russia has begun to have understanding for Ahtisaari's plan," Thaci claimed. "Russia is positively surprised by what is taking place in Pristina. Moscow will also recognize Kosovo as an independent state," the prime minister said. "I am not saying that this will happen in the near future. A decision by Belgrade to recognize Kosovo would speed up recognition from Moscow. I am not ruling out the possibility that Russia could recognize us as an independent state before Serbia," Thaci told Politika. Asked what Pristina’s response would be if the International Court of Justice ruled Kosovo’s independence declaration to be illegal, he replied that he did not wish to prejudge the court’s decision, but that Belgrade’s insistence on taking the matter there “is part of a continuing trend of duping public opinion in Belgrade.” “The independence process has started and nothing can stop it any longer,” said Thaci, repeating his willingness to come to Belgrade for talks that would be "to everyone’s benefit."
