Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic is in Germany this Saturday, where he will take part in the Munich Conference on Security Policy. Ahead of participating in a panel discussion dedicated to regional stability in the Caucasus and Western Balkans, Jeremic told journalists that no peace and stability can be achieved in our region without cooperation with Serbia, which stands at its center. Jeremic attends Munich security gathering "It is very important," he continued, "that the security issues linked to the Western Balkans do not disappear from the international community's agenda." Jeremic will present Serbia's position on the security challenges created after the unilateral declaration of independence by the Kosovo Albanians. "This is the biggest security challenge this year, and it is important for Serbia to be represented here," the minister said. Asked about Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu's presence at the annual conference, Jeremic said that he will be the only Serbian politician taking part in the regional stability panel debate. However, he added, on Friday, "other politicians from Serbia, from our southern province, did take part" in an informal dinner. Jeremic is also set to hold about a dozen bilateral meetings while in Munich.
