DS: No cooperation with SNS

Democratic Party (DS) official Dragoljub Micunovic says that his party has no intention of forming a coalition with the Serb Progressive Party (SNS). It was reported today that SNS leader Tomislav Nikolic had called on Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) leader Vojislav Kostunica to form a joint list for the next elections. He told B92 that Nikolic’s invitation was just a case of political gamesmanship. “Tomislav Nikolic must find a place for himself somewhere, to establish a position for himself and his political party. He has yet to find his place because he’s tried to cooperate with us, and now we see that he is ready to cooperate with the DSS,” Micunovic observed. “On the other hand, the DSS used to be more inclined to the Radicals, and even then he wasn’t sure. I think that he is testing the DSS, to see if he can count on them—whether he should try to create his won powerbase or join forces with someone else,” he surmised. However, Mićunović told B92 that new elections at this time would be politically illogical.
