Several weeks after it signed a contract to acquire NIS, Gazprom has this morning transferred EUR 400mn to a bank account in Belgrade. As part of a broader Russo-Serbian energy deal, a 51 percent stake in Serbia's oil monopoly NIS was sold to Gazprom's oil operation Gazpromneft. Gazprom makes NIS payment Treasury Directorate head Ivan Maricic on Monday in Belgrade confirmed that the payment had been made, and said that the money is now on the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) account. According to earlier announcements, half of this sum will be transferred to the Vojvodina budget during the day. Energy Minister Petar Skundric said that no date had been set yet for the NIS shareholder assembly to be held. When the shareholders meet, likely next week, they will elect a new executive board of the company.

Treasury Directorate head Ivan Maričić on Monday in Belgrade confirmed that the payment had been made, and said that the money is now on the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) account.According to earlier announcements, half of this sum will be transferred to the Vojvodina budget during the day.
Energy Minister Petar Škundrić said that no date had been set yet for the NIS shareholder assembly to be held.
When the shareholders meet, likely next week, they will elect a new executive board of the company.
