EULEX representatives said they would register commercial goods arriving to Kosovo at checkpoints Jarinje and Brnjak as of midnight. Kosovo police, KPS, administrative line supervisor in the north Ergin Medic told Tanjug that registration of commercial goods does not mean that they are liable to custom duty and that importers will not pay duty at the two checkpoints. EULEX registering goods at checkpoints EULEX will carry out the registration for its own records, said Medic. The checkpoints near Raska and Zubin Potok were set on fire several days after the Kosovo Albanians' unilateral declaration of independence last year. Serb political representatives from the north of the province are still opposed to establishment of borders at those two administrative checkpoints between Kosovo and the rest of Serbia. The goods coming through the two checkpoints have been exempt of all duties since February last year. On Sunday, Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic said this arrangement is unacceptable without prior agreement with Belgrade. He added that "everything will be done" to stop the registering of goods until there is an agreement. "I think that at this time there are huge tensions here in Kosovo, it is unnecessary to introduce such things at a moment like this. We are aware that it must start in some way, but with previous agreement with official Belgrade," he said.
